Mean Black Bean Burger Recipe

So, I had a huge craving for a burger and my Husband said make your own!

So, VOILA! We improvised and got down to business.

Look at this perfection ya’ll!

Now check it, I don’t measure ingredients nor do I know how long it took. All I know is it was GOOD! Really simple to make too! And I have plenty of mixture left to supply myself for the rest of the week!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients:

All the colors of bell peppers ( I used yellow, red, & orange because that’s all I had.)

1 half of a White onion finely chopped.

Zucchini thin sliced and finely chopped.

Three cans of Organic Black Beans. I love Aldis brand which I’ll post a pic of the can.

Literally you can get all these ingredients at Aldis and not spend over $25.

1 cup of pre-cooked brown rice. (Also at Aldis. I got y’all back! And I guess I measured a lil something’!)

This is literally the easiest brown rice to cook because brown rice can be a pain in the ass.

Large Mixing Bowl (my red punch bowl worked splendidly.)

Ground Cumin • Garlic Powder • Nettles • Black Pepper • Sea Salt • Thyme • and this BOMB seasoning from y’all know where. Just say it with me, ALDIIISSSS. (Y’all know we don’t measure our spices we just let our Ancestors speak through the flick of the wrist.)

This is so bomb. Really good on Salmon too. And Chicken. Gives a Smokey savory taste.

Instructions:

I wanted to sautéed my veggies first before blending it all together. So, in a skillet I sautéed them on a low heat using grape seed oil. Until my desired level of tenderness.

In your mixing bowl after draining and rinsing in strainer, add your cans of black beans.

Now, you can then pre cook your rice while doing this OR you can buy a bag of pre-cooked brown rice. I’d however say watch the sodium on the packaging especially if you have high blood pressure. The quick cook rice doesn’t take long to make. When you make it make sure you rinse well prior to adding it to the mixing bowl.

Once the veggies have cooked throw it all into the mixing bowl.

Not sure what this gadget is called but I call it my masher. Lol

Mashes everything from potatoes to tenderizing meat. Improvise or is it what it’s meant for? Idk 🤷🏾‍♀️

In the SAME skillet you sautéed those veggies in add more grape seed oil to it and fry those burgers.

Das it! Enjoy and let me know what you think.

You can add tomatoes, avocados, and lettuce to it. My fat but forget to add my avocado. I’ll add it tomorrow lol.

This will make a pretty sized portion. So, cut the ingredients in half if it’s just you!

Enjoy
