Cold Season

Tis’ the season for sniffles and here’s a common cold remedy that I absolutely love and is safe enough for the kiddos!

Boiling Onions, Garlic, Thyme, and Sage with honey is a really good cough syrup that you can make that’s safe enough for your kids to take.

Garlic and Onions are Anti-microbial, anti-viral, and immune supporting.

Thyme is anti-viral, antispasmodic, and a pectoral that helps to expel mucous in the lungs.

Sage helps soothe sore throats and soothe lungs during respiratory flare ups like asthma and bronchitis.

1 part dried sage

1 part dried thyme

1 Half of onion

1 Clive of garlic

Honey to taste. If you don’t like honey you can use stevia or coconut sugar alternative.

Simmer for an hour covered to prevent any volatile oils from getting out.

Let cool.

Once cool, drain herbs through strainer. Press ok Herbs in strainer to ensure you get all the medicinal properties.

Store in tightly sealed jar and put in fridge.

Good for about 5 to 7 days.

Children under 5 can get a teaspoon 2 to 3 times a day as needed.

Children 5 & up 1 to 2 tablespoons 3 times a day as needed.
